Design-Build Scope of Work: Land clearing, foundations, structural steel, concrete paving, asphalt, striping, LED lighting, taxiway lighting, acoustic panels, stormwater management, storm pipe, and sod.

The Ground Run-Up Enclosure (GRE) includes a safe and environmentally friendly facility for Aircraft to perform their required run-ups. Leading into the GRE, Ivey’s installed new asphalt paving and taxiway lights around the edges of the asphalt to identify the facility for nighttime run ups.

The facility consists of concrete foundations with 9” and 15” concrete pavement.  Located in the center of the 15” concrete pavement are grounded tiedowns into which the aircraft is secured in order to perform testing. The facility is made up of acoustic panels on the Northern and Southern walls and allows for the sound generated by the aircraft to be mitigated by bouncing from one panel to another, which is the key highlight to take away from the facility. The Eastern wall consists of a blast deflector, which redirects a large portion of the aircraft’s jet blast and generated noise.

This facility significantly reduces acoustical impact to the surrounding neighbors.
