Ivey’s Construction was the design builder of the Equipment Storage Facility at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The scope of this project included full site development, demolition of existing structures, and site clearing. New storm water, potable water, and electrical services were provided. Features of the new facility included fire suppression, monitored fire alarm, ventilation system, LED lighting, and electric overhead coiling doors. Existing roadway resurfacing, concrete paving, and drainage rework was also performed. The project was completed on an active campus with challenges that included uninterrupted access to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex back of house support services. Construction was closely coordinated with Delaware North guest operations and support services to ensure that daily operations remained unaffected.
