To support the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 mission, Ivey’s Construction completed the fabrication and relocation of Apollo Saturn V Center artifacts that included the Command Service Module 119 (CSM-119) and the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM). The project was successfully completed with little to no down time to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Ivey’s accomplished this by installing a temporary curtain wall system around the work areas that limited the impact to guests’ experiences. The scope of work included the removal and reinstallation of the glass wall around the Command Module (CM) recessed floor pit, modifications to the existing CM support stand rigging, and cleaning of the artifacts prior to and after relocation.
