The LC 3 Crawler Transport Shear Webs Reinforcement Project involved installing structural steel reinforcing for the existing Shear Webs in the Truck Assemblies for both Crawler Transporters.
This project is part of an ongoing program to modernize the existing two Crawlers and prepare them for future NASA missions. Each Crawler Transporter has four trucks.
The project includes the inspection of existing welds, lead abatement, weld repair, structural reinforcement, and painting in a confined space. Ivey’s Construction, Inc. is self-performing all weld repair and structural fabrication and reinforcement.
