In March 2021, the Board of County Commissioners awarded Ivey’s Construction the contract to provide CM at Risk services for the Traffic Operations Center project. The project scope consisted of the renovation of two existing 13,000 square foot warehouse buildings and the installation of a new structural steel canopy. The new facility allows the County to monitor all traffic operations in Brevard County, as well as the ability to fabricate, maintain and store traffic signal equipment, signage, and operational vehicles.
The renovated 26,000 square foot facility includes staff offices, meeting rooms, training rooms, a break room, kitchen, laundry room, and a signal tech room for Brevard County traffic management personnel. A new emergency generator, high-speed Internet and fiber that was included in the scope allows for 24-hour operations and continuous monitoring. The new Traffic Operations Center primarily accommodates Brevard County Traffic Management and Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization.
