This project involved modifying the Fixed Service Structure of Launch Complex Pad 39B to install a New Stabilizer Assembly for the Ares 1-X test launch. The stabilizers were fabricated offsite and erected in pre-assembled units. The units include sophisticated hydraulic controls and were extensively tested before installation. Ivey’s Construction, Inc. self-performed all structural and miscellaneous steel erection, and all heavy rigging.
