The Brevard County Detention Center Phase Three Project consists of new construction for a 10,000 sq.ft. free standing kitchen and food storage warehouse building.
Site work includes site fill, underground utilities, asphalt and concrete paving, exterior fencing and gates, and site electrical service. Structural work includes primarily reinforced concrete block masonry bearing walls with structural steel columns and beams supporting steel joists. Concrete foundations support all of the super structure. The overall building height is 18’-0” with an inside vertical clearance of 16’-0”.
Exterior finishes consist of lightweight insulating concrete roof on steel deck with two-ply reinforced roof membrane. The exterior face of the struck masonry walls are finished with an exterior, moisture- resistant paint. Interior finishes include metal framing and drywall partitions and exposed concrete masonry walls. Interior wall surfaces will be painted along with the exposed ceiling structure and hard ceilings. Floor finish consists of slip-resistant liquid applied cementitious urethane-resinous flooring.
The HVAC system includes several DX air-handlers with metal ductwork serving all areas. Exhaust fans are also included throughout the facility. The plumbing system includes concealed piping, penal style fixtures in inmate areas, natural gas service and associated services for all kitchen equipment. The structure is fully sprinkled for fire protection. The electrical system includes all power within the structure and all lighting within and attached to the exterior of the facility. The technology system includes electrified security systems, consoles, wired communications and data systems.
