This negotiated fast track project provided a new 3000 square foot retail facility constructed directly in line with a portion of the existing west wall of the museum facility. Spread and continuous footings were tied into the existing pile caps and placed with a four-inch slab. The exterior wall construction consisted of a structural steel frame (columns and beams) and 12 gauge studs. The exterior walls were sheathed with 5/8” cement board, topped with EIFS finish, and metal siding panels.

Ivey’s self performed work included demolition, concrete, structural steel and metal roof deck, exterior and interior metal stud framing, exterior and interior wall sheathing, rough carpentry and doors and hardware. Subcontracted work included sitework, millwork, painting, fire protection, mechanical, electrical and fire alarm.
