This soil remediation project involved 63 steam injections wells for the removal of no aqueous subsurface contaminates. This is accomplished via injection of steam, extraction of vapor and ground water. The existing TMP wells consisted of thermocouples at various depths that were used to monitor the underground temperature. They also contained a proprietary imaging system.
Ivey's scope of work was partially design, furnish, install, and functionally test the necessary electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and control commodities. Approximately 12,000 L.F. of field piping up to 30” NPS was required to support the process. The field piping conveyed the removed contaminates from existing wells drilled at various angles and depths to concrete equipment pads. Storage tanks, above and below ground pumps, motor control centers, heat exchangers, a cooling tower, air compressors, and various types of proprietary Government Furnished Equipment were used in the remediation process. A programmable logic computer was fabricated under this contract. It was used to monitor and control the processes above and below ground.
