Project Description: The NASA Central Renovation and Bus Loop Modification Project consisted of civil, landscape, architectural, structural, plumbing and electrical work at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex.

The project was issued in phases to meet the owners accelerated schedule requirements and provide for the least possible interference to the owners daily operations. The work consisted of demolition of the metal entrance canopy and installation of new structural steel and aluminum canopy systems totaling 14,400 square feet, demolition of 104,000 square feet of existing concrete plaza area and replacement with patterned architectural colored concrete. New landscape planters with associated irrigation were also included, as well as modifications and replacement of the underground storm water drainage system. The site wide electrical and sound systems were also modified to support the new construction.

In addition to the canopy and plaza improvements, Ivey's Construction, Inc. completely renovated two large restroom facilities and demoed and installed approximately 50,000 square feet of new roofing on three complex buildings.
