Ivey’s Scope of Work:
This project consisted of the second phase of renovations at the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex. The first negotiated contract for construction management services was for the construction of the Early Space Exploration Building. The ESE Building is a 24,000 square foot convention center and exhibit facility. The convention center consists of a complete commercial kitchen with adequate space to support five conference and banquet rooms. This section of the building also houses a second floor mechanical and equipment room. The exhibit facility consists of several divided sections displaying artifacts and exhibits of early space exploration and has a complete mock-up of a firing room used to support early space launches. Separating the conference center form the exhibit facility is the rotunda main entrance into the building. This rotunda features soaring twenty three-foot ceilings, terrazzo flooring with a NASA logo in the center of the floor and various exhibits.
